Herrington takes on Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway
On Thursday afternoon, the 29th-running of the Dirt Late Model Dream kicked off at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) for Wil Herrington and the JCM Motorsports crew.
With the 95-car field split into two groups, Herrington missed the setup in qualifying and was unable to find much speed in his heat race. With one more shot to make the 25-lap preliminary field, Wil charged forward in his Last Chance Showdown but ultimately fell short of making the event.
Hoping for better luck in Friday's prelims, Wil was better in qualifying as he went 10th-fastest in his group but fell back four spots in his heat. After grabbing a transfer spot in his Last Chance Showdown, Herrington made the $12,000 preliminary feature but was unable to make up many spots and was scored 21st at the checkers.
For Saturday's $129,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Dream, Herrington started ninth in his stacked heat race and lost ground early to finish 14th.
