Herrington charges to Top-10 at Rome with Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series
For Labor Day weekend, Will Herrington began his holiday weekend at Lavonia (Ga.) Speedway on Friday afternoon for the first of two nights with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series.
In his first visit to the racetrack, Wil started the $10,000-to-win feature from 17th and completed all 50-laps to finish just outside the Top-10 in 11th.
With the field elevated to 26 Late Models at Rome (Ga.) Speedway on Saturday, Herrington laid down the second-fastest lap in qualifying and won his heat race where he would pull the No. 1 in the redraw. For the $15,000-to-win Rome Boss, Herrington was running in second when he ran over a rock which split his tire. Having to restart from the rear, Wil stormed from 21st-to-8th to land inside the Top-10.
Wil is currently third in the series points standings.
The JCM Motorsports crew will tackle the World 100 at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, OH) this coming weekend.
